Dhruv Bhakt Divine Journey

The Journey of Dhruv Bhakt – A Child’s Quest for God

At just five years old, Dhruv Bhakt began a divine journey in search of the Almighty. One life-changing incident sparked the fire in his innocent heart and set him on the path to find answers about his life.

One day, little Dhruv was resting lovingly in the lap of his father, the king. Just then, the younger queen—seeing Dhruv sitting there—got filled with jealousy. With anger, she pushed Dhruv away from the king’s lap and even slapped him, saying,
“You do not have the good karmas to sit here.”

Hurt and confused, Dhruv—with tears in his eyes—ran to his mother, the king’s first wife. He asked her,
“Mother, why did the queen push me away? Why don’t I get my father’s love? Have I done something wrong? Are my karmas bad?”

His mother gently replied,
“Yes, my son, it’s true. Neither you nor I seem to have the kind of karmas that earn the love of the king.”

In his childlike innocence, Dhruv asked,
“Mother, how can I fix our karmas?”

She replied,
“Only God can show us the way to correct our karmas.”

Dhruv immediately asked,
“Then to whom should I speak about my pain?”

His mother softly answered,
“To God, my child.”

Curious and determined, Dhruv asked again,
“Mother, where can I find God?”

She responded,
“You must search for Him, my child. God lives deep in the forest… far away from here.”

These words left a deep imprint on Dhruv’s mind:
“Only after meeting God and earning good karmas will I be worthy of my father’s love.”

That very night, Dhruv couldn't sleep. The thought of meeting God filled his heart and mind. Quietly, without waking anyone, he touched his mother’s feet and left home—beginning his journey into the forest in search of God.

As he walked deeper into the jungle, the little boy cried out:
“O God, where are you? My mother says You live here in the forest. Where are You?”

When a soul cries for God with true longing, God listens

In the heavenly realms, the Supreme Lord heard the innocent voice of this little seeker and became concerned. He immediately sent Narad Ji down to Earth to guide the child.

Upon reaching the forest, Narad Ji saw Dhruv walking alone amidst dangerous animals and thick woods. He approached the child and said,
“Child, I know your father. Come back with me. It’s not safe for you to be here.”

But Dhruv replied firmly,
“No, I will not return until I meet God.”

Narad Ji was amazed at the strength and purity of Dhruv’s resolve. Recognizing the divine grace upon this child, Narad Ji blessed him with a powerful mantra:
“Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya.”

He instructed Dhruv to chant it for 7 days and 7 nights continuously, without stopping.

With unshakable focus, Dhruv began chanting. For 7 days, and then for the next 6 months, Dhruv chanted the holy name non-stop. He gave up sleep, food, and all comforts. His body became weak, but his devotion grew stronger every day.

Finally, after 6 months of intense penance, God appeared before Dhruv and granted him divine vision.

The Lord was so pleased with Dhruv’s devotion that He offered him the highest seat—the position of Lord Brahma himself.

But the innocent devotee humbly folded his hands and said:
“O Lord, I do not wish for any position or power. I only want Your mercy—please bless me with the company of Your true devotees. I want to sit among them, sing Your praises, chant Your name, and speak of Your glory.”

The Lesson:

Even a child, pure in heart and firm in faith, can reach the Lord. Dhruv's story reminds us that God does not look at age, status, or knowledge—but only the sincerity of the soul.

When the longing is true, the path opens—even the Lord of the Universe comes running to embrace His devotee.
