A Divine Lesson on Faith, Positivity, and the Power of Belief
Once, Bhai Mardana Ji expressed to Guru Nanak Dev Ji that he was extremely hungry. Guru Ji was resting peacefully under a tree and listened quietly without reacting. Mardana Ji asked again, “Guru Ji, what should I do? I am in unbearable hunger.”
Guru Nanak Dev Ji smiled gently and said, “Wait, the One who has created you will also fulfill your hunger.”
Far away, where no houses stood — only the trees whispered in silence. 🌿
After waiting for some time, Mardana Ji again said, “Guru Ji, my hunger is still not satisfied.”
Guru Ji replied, “Then tell the same to God.” Looking up toward the sky, Guru Nanak Dev Ji prayed, “Oh Lord, have mercy upon us. Mardana Ji is hungry.”
While praying, Guru Ji noticed the tree under which they were sitting. Pointing toward it, he said to Mardana Ji, “You may eat these reethas (soap nuts).”
Mardana Ji replied, “But Guru Ji, these are bitter and not meant to be eaten.”
Guru Ji said, “My Lord has shown mercy upon them. They are now sweetened by His grace. You may eat them.”
Such was the depth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s faith that even the bitter reetha became sweet. This divine miracle reminds us that when our belief in God is pure and unwavering, even the impossible becomes possible.
Guru Ji’s teaching was clear — faith and positive belief have immense power. Just as the bitter reetha turned sweet through divine faith, we too can transform our hardships into blessings by walking the path of truth, devotion, and positivity. Even if failures come many times, strong faith and positive thinking will surely lead us to success.
