Why True Devotees Face Struggle: The Divine Plan
Yudhishthir asked Lord Krishna,
"Your devotees, who surrender to you and love you, why do they face so much struggle in their life journey?"
Guru Maharaj ji here explains that the challenges God gives to the real bhaktas are only faced by those who have truly made up their mind to become a true devotee. These challenges, however, are recognized and accepted only by the true devotees of God. They do not fear losing worldly attachments; instead, their priority is to love God above all else.
Lord Krishna ji replied to Yudhishthir:
"When I love my devotee, the first thing I do is take away their excess wealth and free them from the trap of wealth and greed.
Secondly, I separate them from society, making them different from the way people live, detaching them from worldly attachments.
Thirdly, I make their way of living more different, as they no longer wish to find joy in limiting themselves to worldly pleasures with their families.
I separate them from their families as well.
" Above all, then I play the merciful role, allowing my devotee to come to me without fear, stress, or bondage, keeping the love of God and self-bond above all.
The real place of the Guru's feet is then attained by a devotee. Above this, there is no other place where a soul can find relief on its journey to attain God."
