Krishna’s Divine Test: Power Failed, Bhakti Won
Hanuman Ji is known in Kalyug as one of the supreme deities. This is because of the immense power, humility, and divine qualities he carries within him.
Once, in Dwarka, Lord Krishna observed something about the people closest to him.
Garud, the vahan of Lord Vishnu, approached Krishna with pride and asked,
“Prabhu, do I possess the greatest speed in the universe?”
Lord Krishna simply smiled and remained silent.
It was Krishna’s nature to test those around him.
He then raised his finger and asked the Sudarshan Chakra,
“Is everything fine?”
The Sudarshan Chakra replied proudly,
“I am completely fine. I feel extremely powerful carrying such immense energy within me.”
Krishna smiled again, noticing the pride in its power.
Then, one of his queens, Satyabhama, said confidently,
“Hey Krishna, I believe I am the most beautiful woman in this world.”
Once again, Lord Krishna remained silent, but he had understood their pride.
To teach them all a lesson, Krishna decided to perform a divine leela. He called Garud and instructed him to go to the sacred Gandhamadan Parvat in the Himalayas, near Uttarakhand, close to Hemkunt and the region behind Badrinath, where Hanuman Ji resides in deep devotion.

Hanuman Ji has been living there since Satya Yuga, continuously chanting “Ram Ram Ram.” The entire mountain is covered with snow, radiating divine peace.
Krishna said,
“Tell Hanuman Ji that his Lord Ram is remembering him and wants to meet him, along with Mata Sita, within one minute.”
At the same time, Krishna commanded the Sudarshan Chakra to guard the entrance and not allow anyone inside.
The Sudarshan Chakra felt confident that this task would be very easy.
Krishna then asked Satyabhama to prepare herself and adorn herself as beautifully as possible.
Garud flew swiftly and reached Hanuman Ji.
“Hey Hanuman Ji, Lord Ram and Mata Sita are remembering you and have called you to Dwarka…”
Before Garud could even finish saying that he had to reach within one minute, Hanuman Ji—filled with immense devotion—instantly took off at a speed faster than lightning.
Garud tried to match his speed but failed.
At that moment, Garud realized that Krishna had performed this leela to break his pride in his speed.
When Hanuman Ji reached Dwarka, the Sudarshan Chakra stopped him at the entrance. But Hanuman Ji was in great urgency. Without wasting even a moment, he swallowed the Sudarshan Chakra and proceeded inside, as he had to reach his Lord within one minute.
As Hanuman Ji entered, he saw Lord Krishna appearing as Lord Rama.
With folded hands, he said,
“Prabhu, you remembered me?”
Krishna asked,
“Hanuman Ji, did no one stop you at the entrance?”
Hanuman Ji replied humbly,
“Prabhu, the Sudarshan Chakra was there. I swallowed it. It is still in my stomach—I will release it later. I had no time to waste, as you had called me to meet you within one minute.”
Even after reaching Dwarka, 10 seconds were still left in the given time.
Then Hanuman Ji asked,
“Prabhu, where is my Mata Janaki?”
Seeing Satyabhama sitting nearby, Hanuman Ji said,
“Hey dasi, please call my Mata Sita.”
Satyabhama was shocked. She, who believed herself to be the most beautiful, was addressed as a servant.
For everyone else, Krishna appeared as himself.
But for Hanuman Ji, he appeared only as Lord Ram.
In that moment, the pride of Garud, Sudarshan Chakra, and Satyabhama was completely shattered.
They realized that no power, beauty, or strength is greater than true devotion.
True greatness lies not in power, speed, or beauty—but in pure devotion and humility. Hanuman Ji stands above all because of his unwavering love for Lord Ram.
