Sins of Past and Present Life Forgiveness

Sins of Past and Present Life: How Does a Soul Receive Forgiveness? || पूर्व और वर्तमान जन्म के पाप: आत्मा को क्षमा कैसे प्राप्त होती है?

Guru Maharaj ji shares a practical example to help us understand how forgiveness works for the sins we carry from past lives and the sins we continue to earn in the present life.

Imagine a person is punished for a crime. The case first goes to a lower court, then to the sessions court, and later to the high court. At every level, the appeal is rejected, and the punishment remains unchanged. Finally, the case reaches the Supreme Court, but even there, no relief is granted.

Now, will the person accept defeat? No. There is one last option left — to appeal to the President.

The person writes a mercy petition to the President, honestly explaining their situation, their mistake, their family condition, and all the circumstances of their life, requesting forgiveness and mercy. If the President understands the case and feels compassion, the punishment may be reduced or, in some cases, the person may even be released.

Likewise, when a soul begins to realize the mistakes earned through past karma and the sins being committed in the present life — often without even realizing them — there remains only one true way out.

That way is to connect oneself with God.

By chanting God’s name, remembering Him, and calling Him from the heart, the soul places its appeal before the Supreme Authority. God listens to the sincere inner call, sees the karmic record of the soul, and understands where the soul is trapped, repeatedly falling into the same mistakes.

Through His mercy, God gives the soul strength to overcome those weaknesses and not repeat the same sins again.

When a soul truly asks for forgiveness from within — even while still stuck in the material traps of this world — God hears that inner voice. With regular chanting, remembrance, and surrender, God can reduce the punishment of karma, and in some cases, He may even forgive everything the soul has committed in its life.

Such is the power of true devotion and divine mercy.
